Wreaths Across America needs your help to reach their goal of placing 500,000 wreaths on veterans graves in 2011. And every time you help them honor our veterans and active military, you are also honoring their families and preparing a new generation to appreciate our freedoms.

2011 will mark the 20th anniversary of Worcester Wreath Company donating Maine wreaths to adorn the headstones of our Nation’s veterans at Arlington National Cemetery.

Sponsorships are $15 each.

Saturday December 10, 2011  8:30am at Arlington Cemetery

For more information visit www.WreathsAcrossAmerica.org,  or call 207-483-2039.

Use this form to order wreaths to sponsor at $15.00 each.

For generations, they stood and continue to stand for us!  Will You Take One Day To Stand For Them?

Would you be willing to donate one day to help thank veterans in your?  This year we have been given the tremendous challenge of covering all of the graves at Arlington National Cemetery.  This feat will take many hearts and hands to accomplish.

Please remember - No Food or Drinks allowed on Cemetery property, except water.  There will be lots of cars – parking is limited.  Use Metro Blue Line if possible.  Follow signs to parking and wreath locations.  The gates will open at 6:00am.

Take your time in placing the wreaths, it is not a race.  Stop and read the stone, thank the person for their service, talk to your children about what sacrifices have been made for their freedom.

Arlington Cemetery is hallowed ground and deserves our utmost respect.  No soccer balls, footballs or Frisbees.  It is not a park. Watch and dress for the weather conditions for Saturday, December 10, 2011.

Thank you all for your support in this salute to Honor and Remember our fallen heroes.

The Gifts That Give Hope Alternative Gift Fair will be held on Saturday, December 3 from 10am to 3pm.  Truro Church, located at 10520 Main Street, Fairfax VA is donating space for this event.

The Gifts That Give Hope Alternative Gift Fair is a community event that promotes meaningful gift giving and support for non-profit organizations.  The event is designed to reduce consumption and help neighbors in need.

  • $15.00–a box of holiday treats to send to a soldier serving overseas
  • $25.00–A duffel bag of comfort and relief items for injured military members

and $92 for the tangible items.

We need at least two persons at the table per shift and the shifts would be 9 to 11am, 11am to 1pm and 1pm to 3pm (or any variation in between).

THANK YOU LOCAL SUPPORTERS OF BLUE STAR MOTHERS

Fast Signs of Fairfax is a wonderful supporter of the troops and their families in our area. They provide free Welcome Home banners when military troops come home from overseas duty. Please keep them in mind when you have any signs or banner needs. The NOVA Blue Star Moms thank them for their support.

A super big THANK YOU to the Martins Chase HOA in Ashburn, VA. This wonderful community has chosen our organization to be the beneficiary of their efforts to promote helping the military. Good luck with the race and thank you for supporting our guys and gals in uniform.

We want to thank Wegman's Grocery Store of Fairfax. They have generously donated a gift card for the Blue Star Mothers of Northern Virginia to use to send goodies to the troops. We ask all viewers to consider a trip to Wegman's, a supporter of the men and women in uniform.
THANK YOU WEGMAN'S.
